Greetings EVFAC community! We are up and running with classes every weekend this month, and adding classes all the time! Here’s what we’ve got on the books for February: WickerWorks: Introduction to Basketmaking with Gina Telcocci - February 3 & 4, 10:30am - 2:30pm (FULL!) Wooldyeing with Natural Dyes Workshop with Leigh Alexander - Saturday, February 10th, 11am - 4pm Acid Dye Workshop with Leigh Alexander - Saturday, February 17th, 11am - 5pm Beginning Four Harness Loom Weaving with Karen Hampton - February 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th - 11am - 3pm (FULL!) **The very end of February marks the beginning of our 4-class Navajo textile series with artists from Horizons: Weaving Between the Lines with Diné Textiles currently on view at MIAC! Read more about the exhibit here. Master Navajo weaver Lynda Teller Pete will begin the series with a 3-day rug Navajo weaving workshop. Navajo Weaving with Lynda Pete runs February 29th - March 2nd, 10:30am-5pm. Students enrolled in this class are also invited to a talk and tour of the exhibition at MIAC on Sunday March 3 from 3-4:30pm with Lynda and co-curators Hadley Jensen and Rapheal Begay. There might be a few open spots for those not enrolled in the class. If you would like to be placed on the list for open spots, email Kim at director {at} nmfiberartscenter {dot} org. Other classes in the series will include: Natural Dyeing with Tyrell Tapaha - March 21st - 24th Wedge Weaving with Kevin Aspaas - April 4th - 7th Navajo Horse Cinch Weaving with Roy Kady - April 25th - 28th Registration details for these classes coming soon!!
