Greetings EVFAC Community! The Center was bustling in February with several full classes and equipment rentals filling up the weekday and weekend hours - lots of creative energy buzzing around! Lynda Pete taught a beginning Navajo weaving class that was full - 18 people! We are discussing more classes with her in the fall, including an intermediate Navajo weaving class. Please fill out our waitlist form if you’re interested in these classes. On Sunday after the class, Lynda and co-curators Rapheal Begay and Hadley Jensen came together to discuss the Horizons… exhibition: the pieces in it and their histories, the overall concept and how the objects and weavings were chosen. It was a rich presentation and discussion. We’re very grateful to a grant from the Santa Fe Community Foundation that enabled us to make this event happen. We are wanting to host a more regular lecture series, and looking for speakers and presentation ideas! We have stipends available for the right fit. If you are interested in offering a talk (1-2 hours) or have a suggestion for a fiber-related topic that might be of interest to our community, please email Kim at director@nmfiberartscenter.org.
